CELIS HPA Automatic Switchover Unit (HPA ASU) is designed to increase the availability of satellite uplinks. It can manage a 1:1, 1:2 or 1:N redundant configurations for continuous operation without disruption of signal transmission. A fault condition in one on-line amplifier will switch to the standby amplifier automatically. This behaviour can be disable by the operator and manual switching is also possible.
HPA ASU can also monitor external signals or alarms and activate external signals from/to external equipment thanks to the I/O interface. In this way, HPA inhibit and interlock functions are supported by HPA ASU while path switching and antenna movement, respectively.
The unit is a 19-inch chassis, 2 RU high designed to be integrated in the HPA ground station cabinets.
The HPA ASUs can be provided with a Remote Control Panel (RCP) to provide either advanced monitoring and control functionalities or full control of the unit from a remote site. The connection between HPA ASU and RCP is performed through the customer network. Learn more on RCP>
